The problem with this is, when you’re not traveling, what are you going to do with all of your extra bikinis and one piece swimsuits?

They are delicates, after all, so you need to treat them delicately if you want them to last more than a single summer. Believe it or not, it’s not just wear and tear that can cause them to deteriorate, but improperly storing them can also accelerate this process. You must learn how to store them properly to help them maintain their shape and form for as long as possible.
Learning how to organize bathing suits is a headache initially, but it will save you a lot of hassle in the long run. You can store your bathing suits in a decorative box, drawer, closet, or dedicated swim bag. Prior to storing, you should fold them neatly; make sure they are NOT scrunched up otherwise they will become wrinkled. Do not place anything heavy or sharp on or near your bathing suits, make sure the storage space is cool and dry, and make sure you wash and dry them thoroughly before storing them.

Once you have everything laid out in front of you, it’s time to determine which storage method is best for you. If you don’t have a lot of stuff, a swim bag or decorative box will suffice. If you have a lot of stuff, then you might need to dedicate a closet or drawer to your bathing suits and beach accessories.

This is very self-explanatory; simply roll your bathing suits up (folding can cause them to wrinkle where they are folded) and tuck them into your swim bag. Don’t have enough drawer space? Prefer to hang your swimwear up instead? Then the closet is the best option for you. For organization purposes, I highly recommend you buy an organizer that can hold multiple bikini tops and bottoms rather than just one hanger for each one. This will save you a ton of space and you can still easily find your swimwear at a glance.
Once again, start by taking inventory of your swimwear and sort out which swimsuits you like and which ones you’ve fallen out of love with. If there’s a bathing suit you don’t like, why hang it up? Or if you do hang them up, make sure to separate them from the rest of the swimwear (i.e. place them at an out of the way position and save the prime spots for your best swimwear).

Carve out a section in your closet specifically for your swimsuit hangers. Keep them away from zippers or other abrasive surfaces that might end up rubbing against your swimwear. Otherwise, a jacket zipper might accidentally snag on your bikini top and ruin that beautiful piece. If you don’t have much space for a dedicated section, then at least make sure the clothing next to your swimwear are soft and delicate themselves.
